Well, it would appear that the forum problems have resulted in a wipe of previous posts. I've tried and tried to fix it, but it would seem the only way (according to Kevin) is to contact the host and see if they have a backup. I cannot seem to get in touch with Boss Hogg (he must have gone to vacation somewhere in the West Indies) so it is what it is. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your perception), post counts were reset. I've created some levels for posters to acheive, but the groups you are in won't change (the members, regulars, etc). Only your title will change with post count.
There are a few section changes. First, the gaming section. TgZ will continue to focus on four games going forward: CounterStrike (which includes Source, DoD, and other modifications), Battlefield 2, World of Warcraft and Neverwinter Nights.
The number and type of CS servers to be operated is still up for thought - and once Boss comes back from the moon or wherever he went, I'll chat with him about it. Additionally, a BF2 server (16 player at first) will be set up for play. It will be ranked, and will record stats through EA if EA ever gets off their duff and fixes the stat problem.
The World of Warcraft group, should they ever pop their head up out of the game to breathe, will exist on their own forum. If they never pop up to see the rest of us, this might go the way of the dinosaur.
Lastly, TgZ will host a NWN persistant world, as well as an ongoing campaign for those who wish to play.
All of these games are relatively cheap and have a decent user community. New games will be evaluated based on the number of players interested going forward.
The admin section has been generalized to include all games. Who is actually an admin of what will be determined later. Right now, admins who are active remain so. Nothing changes.
The poll section was removed. It was stupid in the first place and annoying.
Everything else stays as is. The rules on the servers will be somewhat relaxed going forward (though I've not gotten Boss's full approval on this). We're an older group now, and more specific. There's no need to be silly and ultra right wing conservative about how we run servers. The rules for the forums, however, stay the same. This is the first impression we give of people, and we're not about to come off sounding like a bunch of 12 year olds who think they're cool. Keep profanity to the Boar's Nest.
I'll post more soon. Someone find Boss Hogg.
